I teamed up with CBS Sports and Second Spectrum on CBS RomoVision™, a broadcast tool that helps viewers understand the game with real-time insight.

Award-winning broadcasts, powered by data

Built as a storytelling tool for broadcaster Tony Romo, RomoVision™ puts live tracking data on screen for in-depth game analysis. After one season it won Best Technical Achievement at the 2022 Sports Emmy Awards.

How it works

The job was an on-screen product for live broadcasts that stayed intuitive, engaging and versatile. Working with Second Spectrum’s development team, we worked out the layout for the data, chose between 2D and 3D perspectives, and kept execution consistent from play to play.

Kicking it off

The design had to fit Second Spectrum’s tech stack and stretch across instant replays, studio segments and short social clips, in every aspect ratio.
